Water shortages are a major problem in many areas due to lack of rainwater harvesting

While many cities and towns are flooded during the monsoons, when it rains heavily, after a few months there are severe water shortages
In some areas, there is no water supply for some days of the week after a few months, in spring and summer.
This problem could be avoided to some extent if the rainwater was managed well.
Rainwater harvesting is not widespread, due to which the rainwater flows away and there is no water at all during summer.
